I told you I’d revisit the push pops. When Signature Brands contacted me about trying out some of their new Dessert Icings, I said “yes, please.” So they sent me the S’mores Dessert Icing in both Chocolate and Cinnamon, the OREO Ultimate Icing, made with real OREOs, and even some CakeMate decorating tips that attach right to the pouch. Just twist off the top, and squeeze to pipe the icing. That’s it. Inspired by OREOs, I figured this icing would be perfect on my chocolate cookies (it is). And the icing gave me an excuse to pull out my push pop containers once more. (For links to push pop container resources, click HERE to go to my first push pop post. Note both giveaways are now CLOSED!)
I used a 1 1/2-inch circle cookie cutter and baked a bunch of circles using my chocolate cookie dough. First, I tried out some of the CakeMate tips and just squeezed some of the icing on cookies.
And of course I tried some OREO-style sandwich cookies.
Then, I made push pops. After assembling the push pop container, I pushed the base almost to the top, placed a cookie on the base, piped a small dollop of Dessert Icing, topped with another cookie, and continued while pulling down the base. Then I piped a bit of Icing on top using the decorating tips.
