chocolate pretzels
I’m a big fan of the sweet and salty combination, but I find making chocolate-covered pretzels a bit cumbersome to prepare. Enter the chocolate pretzels pops!
Using this silicone mold to make lollipops will save you some time and headaches. (I’m picturing an infomercial with wayward chocolate flying everywhere as you fruitlessly try and cover a pretzel in a mess of goo.)
may be over-dramatizing the chocolate-covered pretzel process, but still… You can’t get easier than these chocolate pretzel pops.
I made these pops for my sister’s birthday, since I only just learned years into sending her birthday sweets that she’s not really into decorated cookies (what?! how?!). So instead, I’m switching things up for her and sending different sweets.
To make these, use any chocolate you prefer, such as dark, semi-sweet, or milk chocolate. The silicone mold comes with lollipop sticks, but I often use my own. I found these colorful lollipop sticks at amazon. The diameter is just a bit bigger than the mold’s sticks, but if you gently press into the grove, they fit just fine.
The beauty of this method to make chocolate pops is that you can add any topping you like. Instead of pretzels, try nuts or dried fruit. Or more candy!

how to make chocolate pretzel pops
you will need:
- lollipop silicone mold
- lollipop sticks*
- chocolate chips (dark, milk, or semi-sweet)
- disposable decorating bag
- mini pretzels
*The silicone mold comes with small lollipop sticks, so you may not need to purchase additional sticks! I prefer to use my own, which have a slightly bigger diameter, but if you press into the grove, they can fit and work fine.
what to do:
Pour chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl and microwave according to package directions. (I microwave at 70 percent power for 90 seconds, stir, and continue to microwave in 15-second intervals until the chips are about three-quarters melted.
Then, I stir and use the residual heat to melt the chips until the chocolate is smooth.) When the chocolate cools to the touch, transfer it to a disposable decorating bag and snip the tip.
Pipe to fill a cavity in the silicone mold, overfilling the mold just a bit. Add a stick, turning to coat. Rest a pretzel on top. Fill the mold and refrigerate until well set, at least an hour. Remove from the mold.
Note that one cup of chocolate chips yields ten pops.
