heart rainbow mini Oreos — easy treats using store-bought cookies
heart rainbow mini Oreos
Can I get a collective “awwww” for these heart rainbow mini Oreos? Here is a super simple way to dress up mini Oreos for Valentine’s Day or a rainbow party. Just pipe some hearts on them with candy melts.
Easy peasy class treat (if your kid’s school allows sugar, and my kid’s doesn’t). Or, easy peasy grown-up party treat.
In my case, I put them in a bowl on the counter as a treat. I ended up eating about ten to my kids’ one. They are just so easy to eat. Mess-free in their tiny cuteness.
Choose red or pink or a rainbow of colors, like shown here. The candy melts will set in less than half an hour. And they will set well enough that you can package these Oreos in cellophane bags or in boxes or jars or bags or whatever.
Which is sort of the problem. They are so easy to eat, you can’t stop.
I’m guessing I’m not the only one with a weakness for Oreos.
how to make rainbow mini Oreos
To make mini Oreos with hearts, melt about 1/2 cup of candy melts in any color in the microwave.
Melt either in a bowl or directly in a disposable decorating bag at 70 percent power for 90 seconds. Stir or massage the bag and continue to microwave just until melted.
Pour into a decorating bag (if melting in a bowl) or a freezer-Ziploc. Do not melt the candy melts directly in the Ziploc, if using. Snip the tip and pipe hearts on the Oreos. Let set about 30 minutes.
