Pretty, red, white, and blue swirls for these 4th of July cookies.
4th of July cookies
It’s time for some 4th of July cookies! Or Memorial Day cookies.
These red, white, and blue swirl cookies are the best-ever dessert for the 4th of July.
Crazy delicious and super-easy to make, thanks to the Wilton color swirl 3-color coupler. (It sounds like I’m doing a commercial for Wilton, huh? I’m not. I just happened to try the coupler for the first time and I love it!)
When I made these rainbow meringues, I used a single coupler and tip, but painted food coloring along the inside of the decorating bag. That worked as well, but the 3-color coupler is easier for consistent swirls of color.
If you like these, check out all of my red, white, and blue treats.
And you won’t want to miss this American flag 4th of July s’mores dip.
I also love these red, white, and blue homemade peppermint patties.
You can make them any color for any holiday, like the other treats here. I also love these red, white, and blue fireworks cookie pops.
Wonder if Wilton can make a 6-color tip for all the colors of the rainbow?

what to do:
Prepare cookie dough according to the recipe, chill, cut out circles, bake, and let cool completely.
Prepare buttercream frosting (note this is NOT royal icing, but buttercream frosting, which holds a 3D shape better). Divide and tint red, white, and blue.
Assemble the coupler and tip with three decorating bags. Fill each bag with each color of frosting. Close them all with a rubberband.
Pipe swirls on the cookies. For best results, keep in the refrigerator until ready to serve so the frosting stays firm and in place.
