A few weeks ago, I posted on losing my darling cat, Lyra. Lyra was with me for 15 years, longer than my husband and my kids. I still keep thinking I see him everywhere, and then I remember. But every day is easier and easier. And we’re looking forward to adopting a new kitten that needs a home, even though Lyra was the strangest, coolest, most awesome cat and he could never be replaced.
You can see one of these uber-simple kitty cat marshmallows in that post. So getting back into the swing of things, I’m going to show you how to make them. Unless you could figure it out from the picture, in which case, go you smarty pants.
how to make cat marshmallows
you will need:*
edible writers (black and pink)
lollipop sticks or straws
*Find the sticks or straws in the craft store. Find lots of information on where to find edible writers HERE.
what to do: With the scissors, cut two diagonally snips in the center and either pull off the chunk of marshmallow between the snips or get in there with the scissors and cut it off, leaving the cat “ears.” With the markers, draw a pink dot for the nose and draw two black dots and six lines for the eyes and whiskers. Skewer with a lollipop stick or straw. TIP: If the scissors get sticky, rub a bit of vegetable shortening on the blades.
