These air fryer bagels take minutes to make (only two ingredients!) and are crazy delicious cooked in the air fryer. They may be the only bagels I’ll ever eat again for breakfast.
Perfectly crusty outside and tender-but-airy inside, serve these bagels up any way you like. Top with Everything Bagel seasoning, toast and smear with cream cheese or butter, or make a sandwich.

2-ingredient dough
You have heard of the magic 2-ingredient dough, yes? If not, you’re welcome. Combining equal parts plain Greek Yogurt (I use no-fat) with self-rising flour results in a super-easy, high-protein dough that can be used for pretty much anything bread-like. You can make biscuits, pizza, bread… and even bagels.
Of course, by “bagels,” I mean dough-shaped circles that look like bagels. However, the air fryer, which crisps the outside and keeps the inside tender, helps make these bread circles taste much more like traditional bagels than plain old oven baking.
By the way, I have a roundup of 30 awesome 2-ingredient recipes HERE. Or if you’re looking for a traditional bagel recipe, check out these Starbucks cream cheese stuffed bagel bites.
how do I make self-rising dough?
Don’t have any self-rising dough on hand? Fear not! You can make your own.
Briefly whisk together:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
how to make air fryer bagels
you will need:
- 1 cup self-rising flour, plus additional
- 1 cup plain, Greek yogurt (no-fat used here)
- pinch coarse sea salt (optional)
- olive oil cooking spray (may also use avocado oil or coconut oil spray)
- Everything Bagel seasoning (optional)
- air fryer
what to do:
Set the air fryer to 350 degrees F and preheat for 3 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine the flour, yogurt, and pinch of salt (if using)* in a bowl. Overturn on a surface floured with self-rising flour. Divide the dough into six pieces.
If the dough is sticky, generously add more self-rising flour. With floured hands, roll a section of dough into a log and pinch the ends together. Lightly spray the top and bottom with olive oil, avocado oil, or coconut oil spray.
Set the bagels in the air fryer a couple inches apart. You may only fit 2 or 3 bagels in the air fryer at a time. Set the timer for 10 minutes.
Flip the bagels half way through. Check the bagels for doneness. Bagels will take 7 to 10 minutes.
Optional: If desired, spray the top of a cooked bagel with your cooking spray and sprinkle everything bagel seasoning to coat.
*NOTE: Self-rising flour contains salt, so the additional salt is optional. However, I find the bagels taste much better with that extra pinch!
