Hosting a wine tasting party? Giving a wine-themed gift basket to a host? Tuck in some cute wine and cheese cookies.
wine and cheese cookies
Two of my favorite things: Wine and cheese. I made these wine and cheese cookies to add to a school auction wine-themed basket, but they would also be cute to serve at a wine tasting party.

These wine and cheese cookies aren’t my first rodeo.
- Pick-a-grape cookies are some of favorites.

- Feeling crafty? Paint your own wine glasses.
- Or paint the bottles with polka dots.
- Make your own wine charms with sea shells. Or Lego Minifigures.

step one: bake your cookies
Prepare the cookie dough according to the recipe. Chill, roll out, and cut out your shapes. (As mentioned, I cut out the cheese wedge by hand using a dough scraper.) Bake and let cool.
step two: Prepare your icing
Prepare your royal icing according to the recipe. Divide and color dark green, electric green, bright white, yellow, darker yellow, brown, purple, and bright green.
Assemble decorating bags with couplers and size 2 or 3 tips for outlining the cookies. This icing should be a bit thicker. You will need a darker green, yellow, white, and brown. You will also need to fill decorating bags with size 3 tips for the bright green and the purple. Close with rubber bands.
Fill empty decorating bags (no tip or coupler needed) for thinned, fill-in icing. Thin icing with drops of water. You will need thinner icing in the darker green, the yellow, the darker yellow, and white. Close with rubber bands.
step three Decorate your cookies
For the wine bottle, pipe a brown outline for the cork and fill with the brown. Outline the wine bottle in the darker green and the white square in the center. Let set about 10 to 15 minutes. Snip the tip from the thinned dark green icing and pipe to fill. Fill the center square with thinned white icing.
For the cheese, outline the shape in the thicker yellow icing. Let set and fill with the thinner yellow icing. Pipe dots immediately with the darker yellow icing.
For the grapes, pipe the stems in brown. Pipe dots in green and purple.
Let the cookies sit overnight before handling and packaging.
