strawberry Nutella hand pies
I’m in love with strawberry Nutella hand pies AND with my air fryer. I whipped up these delicious, heart-shaped Valentine’s Day treats in minutes. Not to worry, though, if you’ve not yet bought an air fryer, you can also bake these in a conventional oven.
Refrigerated pie crust and a heart cookie cutter make these a breeze. A dollop of Nutella, a sprinkle of sugar, and a few bits of strawberry completes the hand pies.
Looking for an air fryer? I have the 4-quart Ninja air fryer.

how to make heart hand pies
you will need (recipe may be doubled):
- 1 Pillsbury refrigerated pie crust
- 3 to 4 strawberries
- Nutella
- sugar
- coconut oil cooking spray
- 3-inch heart cookie cutter
what to do:
Unroll the pie crust. Use the cutter to cut out hearts as closely as possible. Gather the scraps in a ball, roll out the ball thinly, to get a couple more heart shapes. I was able to get 16 hearts from one, round pie crust, for 8 hand pies.
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.
Finely chop the strawberries and set aside. On one heart, spread a dollop (about 1 teaspoon) of Nutella. Add a few pieces of strawberry. Sprinkle with a pinch of sugar.
Place another heart on top and crimp the edges firmly with a fork. Use the fork to gently poke holes in the top of the pie. Transfer to the baking tray.
Spray coconut oil on all of the pies on the tray. Instead of flipping the pies, move the pies around the tray to pick up additional coconut oil.
To bake in the air fryer, preheat the air fryer for 3 minutes at 400 degrees F. Place pie hearts in the basket, being sure not to touch each other. I was able to fit four at a time. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes, or until nicely browned. No need to flip the hearts.
To bake in the oven, preheat to 400 degrees F. Bake on the baking tray until well-browned, about 10 to 12 minutes.
