dried pineapple flowers
Although they do take a couple hours of time invested in the oven, dried pineapple flowers dyed to accentuate any 4th of July dessert are really easy to make. And oh so pretty.
(Try different colors for other holidays, or even a rainbow of colors!) Use them as cake or cupcake toppers, to garnish drinks, or just as decorations for your food table at your 4th of July party.

how do you make dried pineapple flowers?
You’ll need to peel the pineapple and cut slices as thinly as possible.
Soak the slices in a bowl of water tinted with about ten drops of food coloring. Soak for 30 to 60 minutes.
Then, bake the pineapple on a parchment paper-lined baking tray in a preheated 225 degrees F oven. Bake for 30 minutes. Flip and bake for 30 minutes more.
Keep doing this for another hour or two until the pineapples are totally dry. Let cool on a wire rack.
