Mummy, zombie, and monster Halloween pretzels are so easy to make and sure to be a hit at your Halloween party.
Halloween pretzels
Any time I need a delicious, easy, fun treat, I turn to my candy melts and pretzels. These mummy, zombie, and monster Halloween pretzels are super duper easy to make.
I love the sweet and salty combo. And Halloween pretzels are scattered all over my blog. You can also find the mummy pretzels here. I used pretzel rods to make zombie pretzels before. I even have a roundup of 20 Halloween pretzel treats from around the web.
how to melt candy melts
There are three ways to melt candy melts, either directly in the disposable decorating bag (real chocolate gets hot too quickly to do this, but it works for candy melts), in a double-boiler on the stove-top, or in the microwave.
To melt directly in the disposable decorating bag,
Place 1/3 to 1/2 cup of candy melts in a bag. Microwave for 90 seconds at 70 percent power. Massage the bag and use residual heat to fully melt the candy. If needed, add an additional 15 seconds of microwave time. This is the easiest method, but if the candy is thick, it’s harder to fix.
To melt on the stove-top,
Place a heat-safe bowl over a pan of simmering water, making sure the water doesn’t touch the bottom of the bowl. Add the candy melts to the bowl and stir as the candy melts. Alternatively, you can use a melting pot. When melted, scrape the candy into the disposable decorating bag.
To melt in the microwave,
Add the candy melts to a microwave-safe bowl and follow the instructions above for melting in a decorating bag.
The benefit of melting on the stove-top, in the melting pot, or in a bowl in the microwave is if the candy melts become too thick, you can add one to several pinches of EZ Thins. Often, I’ll add a couple of pinches to the candy melts before heating to prevent any risk of thickness.
