for the Rice Krispie Treats you will need:
- 4 2/3 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 4 tablespoons salted butter
- 10 ounces marshmallows (about 6 cups mini or 40 regular)
- 1/2 cup white chocolate morsels
- oval cookie cutter (2-inch used here)
how to make Rice Krispie Treats
Spray a large bowl with non-stick cooking spray and place the cereal in the bowl. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Set both aside.
In a saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and white chocolate. Heat until fully melted and smooth, stirring frequently. Fold the mixture into the cereal.
Spread the treats on the baking tray evenly into a large circle shape. You will not fill the entire tray. Your circle of treats should be 3/4-inch thick and 10-inches in diameter. (Don’t worry about making a perfect circle, just spread the treats evenly.)
Let the treats set very well, about 2 hours. You may also chill more quickly in the refrigerator.
Use the cutter to cut oval shapes. Cut as closely together as possible to minimize excess. You should have about 22 treats total.

TIP: The treats should be sticky enough to add the marshmallows and sprinkles, but if needed, you can add dabs of light corn syrup to help them stick.
