This blog, the decorated cookie, is all about Cookie Decorating 101. This Elvis cookie is here to welcome you.
cookie decorating
This Elvis cookie was at my wedding, by the way. When I started working as a cookie decorator, I had never picked up a bag of frosting in my life. Fast forward ten years, and there is little you could name I haven’t put on a cookie: washers, dryers, space aliens, monsters, every animal from alligators to zebras, human organs, mac n’ cheese, steak and potatoes, people doing yoga, kayaks, guitars, popcorn, beer. These are just a few that come to mind, but don’t even come close to representing the list.
Once you grasp the technique (outline, fill in, details), perfect your frosting so the consistency is exactly right, and learn to manipulate your frosting bags, anything can be put on a cookie. I even had Elvis at my Vegas wedding for all my guests.
My hope is that my kits will demystify the art enough to get rookies started decorating cookies and the breadth of themes and options will give cookie experts some new inspiration. I’ve tried to come up with kits for holidays, events, and occasions most people would need and like, but feel free to send me more ideas (and I’ll continually add more, so check back).
Thank you for visiting! Happy decorating,
meaghan
