Roll up your sleeves and make some easy (but kind of messy) marshmallow spiderweb Halloween Rice Krispie Treats! Scroll to the end for printable how-tos and a video.
Halloween Rice Krispie Treats
These spiderweb Halloween Rice Krispie Treats are so easy to make, if a little (or a lot) sticky.
Get the kids in the kitchen for some Halloween treat fun, as long as you don’t mind messy fingers from the marshmallow spider webs. And don’t worry, the treats will dry pretty well and become not-at-all sticky in about an hour.
Here, I use store-bought cereal treats topped with store-bought frosting and some melted marshmallows, so you need no time at all for these. And I advise embracing the sticky! Or, skip the sticky and make monsters cereal treats instead.

how to make Halloween rice krispie treats
you will need:
- rice krispie treats (store-bought or homemade Rice Krispie Treats)
- frosting (store-bought or homemade)
- food coloring (purple and green used here)
- candy eyes
- marshmallows
- lollipop sticks (optional)
what to do:
Tint food coloring preferred Halloween colors, such as purple and green. Spread the frosting on the cereal treats. Let the frosting stiffen a bit, about 15 minutes.
Place 5 or 6 marshmallows in a microwave-safe bowl. (This will cover about 10 treats.) Microwave for 30 seconds until the marshmallows poof up. Quickly stir with a spoon and let the marshmallows cool until easily handle-able.
Now, dig in! Grab a bit of melted marshmallows and stretch with both hands. Place over a frosted Rice Krispie treat, tucking the ends on the sides of the treats. Yes. This will get messy.
Add a couple of peeking candy eyes.
TIP: Insert lollipop sticks, if desired, to make these sticky treats easier to hold.
